I've heard rumors that some of the Indian outsourcers are starting to set up shop in China (infy?) So it is happening. Dunno how successful it will be. Then again I'd always thought this mass outsourcing would be a big fad and die out quickly, so what do I know.

<don't think so GST because we are already outsourcing to india the software jobs and there is plentiful supply (obviously) of indian programmers at the same price as china- maybe even less because the rupie(?) is not as strong as chinese currency.>

The Indian companies are moving to China. MSFT is investing $1 billion US. The list of investments here grows by the day. China is an emerging powerhouse in software. It comes down to talent and price. China has the advantage on both scores. They lack the marketing capability in the US. That gives an advantage to US firms. But the US firms are moving here to do their development work -- that is reality now, and it is picking up speed as we speak.
