John Kerry will get us off Arab oil without drilling in wildlife refuges and causing permanent damage there. Uh-huh... That would be quite a trick to see, especially with that charming "smile" of his.. The last administration said the same thing and did nothing.... Must have been something to do with OXY and those Gore family connections, right? And I certainly don't see how he will accomplish it without tapping ANWR (which would be the best thing that could happen to the Porcupine Caribou in order to increase their numbers). It's a circular argument AS.. We do things because there's a profit in doing so. Oil is the cheapest and easiest current form of providing mass energy. So for an alternative energy industry to be created, there will have to be some profit in forsaking the current system and building a new one. And it will likely take considerable subsidization as well... Again... I don't wish to spend too much bandwidth on domestic topics, but I just couldn't resist... Hawk@begyourpardon.com
