Thanks. I think they find it comforting to rely upon Urban Myths - when they reinforce their own particular biases - rather than doing the hard work of fact-checking... and thinking for themselves.

Talking about Al Gore and Internet is a distraction. Republicans need a distraction because of the very serious real problems facing the country. These problems include the state of the economy, high unemployment, the lack of financial security for aging boomers, a huge budget deficit, a crisis in health care delivery, a potential war with Iraq and a crisis in North Korea. And they want to talk about AL Gore and Internet. So it goes...
