I am not French.

You refuse to say what you are, except a citizen of Monaco. That country is part of France from a cultural standpoint, so I consider you culturally French. Your political positions certainly reflect the French view, IMO.

Oh so the Renaissance failed. That's news to me. Is that what they teach you in school, Bill?

I got a basic education from our system, zonder. Most of what I learned was not from the time I spent getting my College Degree, but from reading. If you want to check the quote from me, you will see that I said the French failed to make a revolution based on the Enlightenment, not that the Renaissance failed. Two major, different, events in History. France ended up with a rebellion and went back to a Monarchy. They knew "Common Sense," written by Tom Paine, was the basis for the American Revolution. They greeted Paine as a Hero when he came to France, but inprisioned him when the Terror came and almost killed him. The only good part of that episode was that it gave Paine the time to write his second great piece, "The Rights of Man."

"USA runs the world" is one reason why resentment grows against Americans every day?

It is especially difficult for the French, who will never admit that they don't run the world. Our European friends today are in the Eastern part. They lived under communism, and appreciate what we did by defeating it. The Western Euros, who we saved from being under the boot of Stalin, tend to hate us for it.

people who speak Chinese are twice the number of English speakers around the world, and English is number two, closely followed by Hindustani and Spanish.

And guess what language they are all busy learning? Americans are too arrogant to learn Foreign Languages. Plus, they don't need to, with all the Foreigners learning theirs. (Except, of course, here in Waikiki, where the sluts all learn to proposition in Japanese.)

don't see what you are driving at, with these insubstantial attacks against the French language.

I was having some fun at the expense of the French, who will never get over their feeling of lost superiority. "Sic Gloria Transit!" Since you reject being French, and refuse to identify yourself other than as a Citizen of Monaco, I guess I will identify you by that new term we have, "Euro."
