Some say it is a religion of peace, some say it is a religion of kill the infidel. Some say it is a religion of tolerance, some say it believes that if you don't cover your head properly you head does not have the right to be attached to your body. There are people who claim to strongly believe in the religion who share a very wide opinion of what their religion espouses. I am not wise enough to know which version is true, but I am wise enough to realize that in time it is highly likely that one version of the religion will emerge as dominant, and as I see things, the more extreme version, seems to be lopping the heads off of those that don't see things there way. Over time, enough heads may roll that their version of the faith will indeed become its reality. That is my viewpoint, and I believe there are no facts. I also disagree that Islam prohibits visual representations, because if you tell a story to a child of let us say Mohammad's ascent to heaven, and you spin the tale of the travel to the Eastern Mosque, in the mind of the listener that story transform to a set of images, that is how our minds work. Hence the telling of a story of Mohammad, forces visualization to take form and hence speaking of Mohammad violates the faith of Islam. Your other points: Go ahead and judge the US, no skin off of my back. Again, you claim that you don't hold to double standards, but you are holding the US to a standard to which Europe has chosen not to hold Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, the Soviet Union, and many in the former Yogoslavian area to. Or is the standard that the world should hold itself to as follows: "If you see or know of terror, it is ethical to look the other way (as long as you make a speech about how bad it is in the UN), but if you engage to combat that terror, you are violating international law" What torture methods are used in Guantanamo? I'd bet a dollar to a donut (I like donuts) that the Spanish use much more force against the Basque seperatists than the US is using at GTMO. Where does it say that terrorists or those alleged to be terrorists are entitled to lawyers?
