If the destruction of ancient Isra'El in 70 CE is not cast in stone, why should the destruction of Palestine be?

The British and the Arabs permitted immigration into Palestine, but given an inch, the Zionists wanted a mile and started a campaign to force the British's hand and to subdue the land. The British. who were wishywashy on Zionism, had there minds made up when the Zionist terrorists killed four British soldiers a day and a UN representative (Count Bernadotte).

The US threatening UN members who refused to back the new "state" were threatened with trade sanctions.

"As far as I'm concerned, the past is now set in stone.. It cannot be changed."

It is only set in stone when one is defending a position., akin to closing the door behind you after you have had entrance, shutting others out.

"And if the UN decided to grant the Jews that extra territory, then you have an issue to take up with them."

I, as a US taxpayer, am funding this welfare state and I am taking the issue up with my fellow Americans.
