Good point. Our legal system is stuck back in the 19th century.

Sure the system can be reformed, but the main problem seem to be cumbersome legal proceedings in which lawyers must show up in court for five minutes to simply enter a non-guilty plea.

I suspect you are right, and I am not clear what kind of tort reform Washington is considering. One reform I am interested in is caps on jury awards. Spiralling out of control jury awards results in a hidden tax on all of us that only benefits a few.
