OT Nspolar,

Amazing, I remember days (with no sun) of -55 with a ten
mph wind chill factor. Friends who worked on the north slope would relate stories of -80 with 20 to 30 mph winds. At least you have the northern lights to alleviate cabin fever.

I guess that explains why the Pacific NW has been pounded
in the last few weeks, the jets are pulling the tropical
air up and over the gulf of Alaska, chilling and intensifying the intense low pressure systems. The winds
here have been frightening, 70-80 mph. Perhaps Roebear can
extend his gaze to the west and give a prognostication.

Enjoy your nice weather, but chop a bunch o' wood, i'm sure
you'll need it
