I am an extreme liberal and tolerant of all positions. I have not called for any individual to be banned because of any liberal position or any stupid position that someone who calls themself a liberal is shouting. I am intolerant of attacking an individual because of their race creed color or sexual orientation. I am intolerant of others who questions another honesty on really stupid evidence or analysis. I don't see how the above is not being liberal. If poet said this is a place for those who support dems policies and ridicule any other positions, then I would not be qualified. As to what I say here vs how I would speak on a moderated threat, well when I am in a Weak minded haven (moderated via poet and maybe Mr. Allen.) I speak softly and not disruptively. I tell light jokes. Are you saying (poet)liberals are so stiff and anal they cannot joke about themselves. To me RWE are idiot's. To invite idiots to the table and then throw them out seems dishonest to me. If a person comes to this place where it is known that I post and I have stated I consider any post in an open post speaking to the forum. My reply to that poster is not harassment of any kind. That poster is free to create a place and exclude me. That poster is free to create a place and simply inform me I'm not welcome and I will not post there. SI has a mechanism of PM's

Hi Laz, I very much appreciate the time and effort you've taken in explaining to Tom the way moderated threads are run. As you know, I started the Left Wing Porch a couple of years ago. Up until that point, I'd used SI only to trade and my running the Options Box kept me busy and unaware of even the existence of the political threads, much less the posters who frequent them. Opening the LWP was a brutal education. There were hundreds of people posting, testing limits, etc. I changed the thread header a number of times, as well as the general rules, in order to keep it what I'd originally intended it to be: a watering hole for liberals. There was a good number of people who posted a cheeky comment or an anti-liberal epithet on the thread, just to see if they could get away with it. I got to the point where, after one post like that, I'd ban a person. Until now, no one ever complained that I was not following my header rules. Interestingly, this did NOT happen with Tom Watson, despite his saying otherwise. He did make a post on the thread which caused me to question where he was coming from. I checked his posting history. I then PMed him and told him that, based on the fifty or so posts he'd recently made that were visible via his profile, I could figure out that he was not a liberal and that I was moderating him from the LWP. He and I went back and forth a number of times in PM that day, with his PMs becoming less and less comprehensible. I finally told him that there wasn't anything else to say on the topic and that I wasn't going to respond to any more of his PMs. I never heard from him again until I started posting here recently.
