That's just more social engineering.

Which is the biggest problem with the tax system.

Just stop confiscating my money and giving it to the non-producers.

I'll make my own choices.

I'm going to try to highlight the auto tax credit concept better.

First, I want to mention that politicians make bad engineers. For that reason, it is better for the government to use a carrot than a stick to produce the desired results.

Bluntly: The EPA has not worked to get auto makers to produce autos that produce less greenhouse gases.

We need to let business do what business does best: turn a profit.

Give a large tax credit to small cars.

Say for instance a car that would sell for $15,000. give a tax credit of $6,000 on it.

People would take out loans and drive them free for the first year!

Mid to lower income people would be the folks buying these cars.

Demand for these autos would be high. This would put auto workers back to work.

These cars would be lower gasoline consumption vehicles which would lower greenhouse gasses.

win win win win win ...

AUTO-DIDACTIC DIDDLING

Arianna Huffington's latest article pretty well demolishes the illusions regarding this nation's hypocrisies with regard to automobile and national energy self-sufficiency policies:

Don't hold your breath waiting for sensible policy from the Bushista Junta.

Good topic. Abolish taxes on corporations and capital gains. Both are counterproductive.
