Everyone has a right to comment on public figures. They affect us all, since they are in the media and serve as examples (good and bad) to us all. It would be a pretty dull world of speech (but possibly very good for honing our research abilities) if we had to prove we were directly affected by something before we could talk about it. (not so hard to prove indirect affects, but still, even that could be onerous).

Speaking of something TOTALLY unrelated, do you know how I had onerous filed in my memory banks? Under honorous. I looked at that and thought, "now that doesn't make sense." That would be honor bearing, or full of honor, not burden bearing, or full of burden. You know of my homophonic disability. Thought I would share that.

Legal right, yes.

Moral right, no.

Doesn't matter how accurate his coments might be. The Catholic Church is a private entity. It is totally entitled to do whatever it wants to do internally. Even if it would be more appropriate for Catholics to chastise MT instead of sanctifying her, that's it's business. Doesn't affect him in the least. So he should just shut his wordhole and let them do what they want to.

He just likes to stir up pots to make himself feel important. That's his legal right, but I'm also totally entitled to call him an a$$hole, which is what he is.
