Most honest Republicans agree Kerry is highly respectable.
When Hannity tried to attack him on his show, the Senator DeConcinci, a former Republican Senator, scolded Hannity and told him he should listen to Kerry's positions before he criticizes him, and that Kerry has a lot of important things to say. McCain is a major Kerry supporter. The only ones who aren't are the ones who feel directly threatened by him winning in 2004. But that's just personal. The GOP is also not going to get far attacking bona fide war heros. They got away with it once with Cleland, but Georgia is not the nation. If they try it nationally they'll lose. And expect Kerry to do fairly well in Georgia and other southern states. With a southern running mate or McCain he could take a few of them.
