A Boston brahmin with an affected accent will not win a national election. Period, end of story.

The early odds from my brain indicate the Dems will likely put forward a Kerry-Edwards ticket. I think Edwards is actually running for the VP slot.

As far as the left v. right debate and whose who? Well, most folks don't vote. And as a relatively politically aware sort, I've long wondered how they'd actually vote were they to finally show up and do so. Since I think most of 'em are poorer and probably carry around fewer special interests, It'd be my guess that they'd vote with the Democrats.

But of those who do vote there's a very strong middle road. That's why we see not just Democrats or not just Republicans elected over and over. The balance shifts. So it's pretty much an common sense like appeal that's aimed at the middle that determines who wins and who loses.

I think a Kerry-Edwards ticket would sport an ability to make this kind of an appeal and could actually defeat Bush who right now is walking on a great many eggshells, not the least of which are special interests in a job sensitive economy and I double he'll be able to hold up the war cloud. Middle Americans, who actually do pride themselves on common sense, will eventually begin to read the smoke rings which are starting to show.

Well I am not sure how respectable he is. But I think if he has snake oil to sell Americans, and it appears he has, the Americans very likely will consider buying it. The GOP had better work on a plan to defeat this guy, else, I think he will be formidable - especially if the war effort turns south.
