Ditto.

I remember people sometimes being confused by that, but even if I thoroughly despised someone, I wouldn't touch them unless they broke the rules. On the flip side of the same coin, I occasionally had to suspend people I really liked. Very few of them ever acted like they thought their friendship with me should've made them immune, but those few ceased being friends.

I assume TokyoJoe has already been nominated. No way we got into the 400's without that name coming up.

That was always a hard part of the job. I couldn't allow myself to let my opinion (knowledge, IMO) that someone was a worthless tout enter into my decisions and actions. There were always those who I saw for what they were but were untouchable because they "touted by the rules". It's really hard to sit on your hands in those situations, and when people would complain about them to me, I'd have to tell them that while I can't offer an opinion on whether they're right or wrong, if someone's "crime" is being a tout, then the person making the complaint is infinitely more empowered than I to do something about it.

Remember MusicGuy? Hilarious writer with a mean streak 10 miles wide. I ended up having to give him a really long suspension once when he ripped Daniel Miller a new one. Well, he vented on me for a while, then after he cooled down I told him that he needed to be on the site puncturing young Mr. Miller, but that he was doing a disservice to other members if he kept getting himself thrown out of the game on technicalities. I'm sure others are seeing this message who got that same speech from me. hehe

I reinstated him and his next post was a very calmly-worded yet forceful and irrefutable excavation of Miller's backside. Miller left.

Haven't seen musicguy around in just about as long, though. He really was a professional working musician (and well-known to some of us who are really into music and musicians) so he could very well have gotten too busy to mess with this stock market stuff.
