Don't expect this Administration to cut spending. Do expect this Administration to have the biggest budget deficit in the history of the country. Do pay attention to the long term and what happens in 2012 when the boomers start drawing their Social Security. Wake up America!

how about yanking federally issued credit cards from federal employees....and firing and prosecuting the perps instead of the whistle blowers...

this is an old story, and so far i cannot find any resolution to what happened to the people who were doing the stealing....i saw the two fired whistle blowers on an interview program the other evening...i heard one of theme give account of one of the employees who actually tried to charge a new ford mustang on his account...fortunately that attempt was thwarted....but my question is what kind of credit limit and controls are on these cards in the first place that would even make the guy think he had a chance to get away with it...

When is business is faced with reduced revenues and profits, do you expect that company to continue with business as usual or do you expect them to cut costs?

not just business, it applies to families too

if you spend more than you are bringing in, you have deficit

quite simply, government is too big and spends to much

from state to federal levels

and no one person or agency wants to give up their piece of the pie

First to go are luxury programs like the NEA.

If you feel that writing and art is a luxury, I'm glad you're not an elected official.

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid make up 48% of the budget. These programs are out of control. From eligibility to bulk buying policy, the whole system needs an overhaul.

Federal employee pensions make up 7% of the budget. This is classic self-dealing, spurred on government employee unions and an irresponsible congress. We'll need to break the unions to get this piece under control.

Another 19% is non-defense discretionary spending. Many programs, like the NEA and public broadcasting, are outdated and no longer deserve funding. This area can be cut to 14-16% of the budget without any harm to the country.
