It cuts both ways, but the identity of the bigger crook is clear--Mr. Arafat. What would the Palestinians do with a third of a billion dollars? A little health care, a little education, a little housing,....

I dimly recall a debate this Summer with JohnM about Arafat's cupidity. Even the UN has documented it.

It's been huge in the Israeli papers,


I understood the Likud scandal was getting the Ink in Israel. The way I have heard it Sharon's son made a deal with a underworld type to extort money from businessmen to pay for dues for new Likud members. Plus the 3000 top voters for Likud, who get to vote for the Parliament members, have been paid off with parties and sex in exchange for their vote. Sounds wild!
