( whether thats in your lifetime I dont know) Fact is the electorate grew by 52 million possible voters from 1972 through 2000. Fact the DemoPublicans were able to raise their combined vote counts by only 20 million despite 98% hegemony over electoral media. The Abstainers grew by 29 million voters and the independents grew by 3 million. According to my sociodemogrphic projections using all the electorate in all the samples, one of the major parties will fall, and an Independent candidate will win in the alotted time frame. I doubt that the emerging candidate will win as a libertarian, the Libertarians have poor concepts of market penetration guiding them, it is far more likely that an Independent party that combines True Independence from the Demopublican hegemony will emerge from the momentum of one Jesse Ventura. ( Not Jesse himself) Mr Venturas' election to the governorship of Minnesota was the blue print to the true wild card in American politics, his winning % came from the Non Voting Majority and from both the major parties whose membership defected in frustration with the politics of that present. The Democratic left is at a ceiling in voter penetration, it's bumped into a ceiling at max of 24 to 25%, but most likely it will stay in the range of 23% which has been it's ceiling so far this past two decades. The republicans on the other hand are ebbing and flowing from a peak of 54 million votes in a Reagan term to a pathetic showing of 20 million in 1996, the republicans are showing much greater capacity to adjust themselves to the trends in the electorate. The dynamics in the results are providing the republicans with a real education, and it is seemingly guiding much of their machine. The democrats have shown no flexibility and are actually stuck in a true hole, where their dictating, and manipulation, (spin as reality) are actually the cause of their disconnect with the greater electorate ( the left has a bad historical record in the eyes of the greater electorate) Need additional help just ask. Proud member of the Non Voting Majority where an Abstaining Vote is a NO Confidence Vote.
