I like this guy. No, I love this guy. Sadly he is exactly what we need in public office but the kind we will never see. So we get people unable to hold real jobs representing us. We are doomed.

Tom Campbell, who really was a decent politician if there is such a thing, with outstanding credentials in business and law that most of them don't have- was uncerimoniously dumped from the republican party in California for not supporting their social agenda, which is too far right for the mainstream here. Thats why nutcases like Barbara Boxer and Davis keep winning. Its not that people like them, its just that the opposition is so extreme in their social views and "out there" wrt what people really think here it is the lesser of two evils.

Campbell is now dean of the Haas school at Berkeley.
