A bigger look at COTs on the NDX. Have not seen any discussion of it on SI. The divergence between commercials and smalls just grows to quite a historical spread:

Bush credited American consumers with being the driving force behind the nation's economic recovery but said "there are warning signs I won't ignore" like mounting personal debt, a growing tax load and rising unemployment, which "clouds our economic future."

What I found amazing about that long term chart you posted was its incredible accuracy in bull and bear markets.

Net 0 by Large traders in a Bull market is a buy, Net 0 by Large traders in a Bear is a sell as long as commercial and small traders remain divergent. This has 100% accuracy.

The 8 times since Jan 1999 that this has happened has returned 29%, 20%, 38%, 23%, 18%, 32%, 48%, and 37%.

Justa, which lines reflect which positions?

i.e. The blue line represents....(large specs? small specs? commercials?) The red line represents . . . etc.
