In 1974 short term treasury bills yielded nine percent. Cash was not so "high priced" then.

Claude, I too have been struggling with finding "safe" places for my money over the next few years.

Gold stocks and Foreign bonds are some of my current investments.
However I am diversified and I do still have a fair amount in U.S. paper....my 2 choices have been a GNMA Fund and TIPS Funds.
I bought most of the GNMA fund (VFIIX) in 2001 and early 2002.......I just started buying TIPS last year and have been continuing to do so every time the 10 year rises over 4.20.
Since I have always valued your opinion in the "gold arena" I wanted to get your thoughts on parking my money (a fairly large %) around 40% of portfolio in a GNMA Fund and TIPS funds.
Thanks

Chris
