just how many divvie paying stocks are there? vs how many are not paying...

the yields suck anyway even with the tax cut

even if they pay a divvie, the companies still need to perform or have some basic value that's not unjustifiably sky high.. (which one?)

and... if they are bought, can that move the wilshire 5000 vs the dow?

KT, I think the dividend exclusion is a great idea but would be happy to limit the amount or phase it out at a certain income level. The retired folks get a pathetic rate of return from savings, t- bills they need a safe source of income. Many have been screwed by the financial predators of Wall St retirees need a safer source of income - dividends don't lie (but they can be eliminated.) mike
