jw, given the depth of the problems I think you are being a little benevolent there.

I didn't see very much in the plan that would imo produce ST stimulus. I did see some things that would have LT implications, and maybe negative ones.

I watched Kudlow and Cramer the other day, 1st time in a long time. Kudlow was absent, the nice looking lady (forget name) was sitting in so it was enjoyable. If Cramer would yammer less and let her do more it would be better. Not only is she better looking but seemingly just as or more intelligent, and she ain't on drugs.

Anyway neither of the two guests were too high on Bushy, for different reasons. One was a banker/finance type and the other was Reich.

Excess capacity isn't an issue easily dealt with, imo. I think it has to work itself off to a large extent by natural means, and time. In the interim it is the gov't responsibility to maintain incentives for new technology and development, take care of its people as best it can, protect its citizens, and structurally reform for the longer term.

The biggest problem I have with Bushy and crew is that they are spreading themselves too thin, way too thin, via added responsibilities around the world. In the meantime the structural support mechanisms back home appear to be eroding. This leads to more problems eventually, not solutions to existing problems. Secondarily I'm not so sure I give a fock what is going in N Korea, when South America is a frigging powder keg.

The conservatives (and Dems) applaud Bushy for his Saddam stand. Yes a complicated situation. But I agree with Novak and Broder, who I saw on CNBC meet the press - and doubt this country is ready for war, nor wants it. Getting rid of Saddam is probably the easy part of the equation, the responsibilities come later. What I suspect most Americans really want is to flip a few trades and get rich, and let someone else spill the blood. Sounds cool to me (and I need a good supply of firewood to keep warm).

Just my opinions, and 3100 dollars isn't enough for me to change my views, religious or otherwise.

Noticed there wasn't any aid for the states in the Bush plan. This definitely will hurt the bleeding heart liberal democrat run state of California. Can't blame Bush for letting them die on the proverbial vine.

Though as California goes down the financial tubes, struggling to maintain their socialist programs, do they pull the rest of the weak US economy with them??
