Bees are really not all that interested in most garden flowers. Reason being that their tongues (which is what they use to suck nectar) are too short for, say, gladiolas.

They like teeny-tiny flowers that you probably never notice. In my yard, they like maple flowers, holly flowers, boxwood flowers, black gum flowers, and other teeny-tiny greenish white flowers that I've never even noticed before.
