I'm shocked to hear HD, Lowe's, and Wal-Mart uses such tricks....ah, a whiff of the good ol' days (tech, late 90s...gotta hit growth #s at any price)..

You've been tremendous both research-wise and other-wise, but that range simply got blown-out of the water today....I see a lot of folks are targeting 1030-1032 NDX for bounce (saw your post too)..

HD -" 1/4 of their net profit comes from free merchandise for new store openings. "
ajitj99 - could you elaborate why new stores have free merchandise? Do suppliers subsidize HD's new stores by giving them merchandise to boot for free? That's hard to believe. Or does HD capitalize the installment merchandise for a new store? That would be accounting fraud so it can't be <g>?.
