What do you think the U.S. should do; knowing that North Korea was in violation of its treaty, to discontinue its nuclear arms program? If North Korea attacks, we'll soon know whether or not President Carter really deserved his Nobel Prize - won't we.

BTW, how much military experience do you think Anthony Lake and Sandy Berger had?

I have yet to hear of a single case of an extortionist who will be dissuaded by kindness or accomodation. This case is sounds like this, give us money and and food and foreign aid or we bring the whole world down with us. Feed our hungry or we make nukes and sell to your enemies. What do you choose?

Besides, I understand that it takes a long time to start a nuclear program. Since they have nukes now, it means they've been building them for a long time, possibly 4-6 yrs ago. Since this action alone directly proves they reneged on a deal signed with basically the whole world, why does anyone think giving them aid and food and money now will make the problem go away?
