'Cars on Ebay and other places are not meeting reserve, and in general not moving any more.'

A absolute understatement! You should see the FMC and GMAC repos lined up at auctions. Need an 01 Ranger Truck? Saw 80+ 00-02 in a repo lane yesterday.

Go for a 66 or 67 Shelby, or maybe a GTO?

>>> I've been following the classic car market with an eye toward buying a '69 camaro or a '67 corvette. <<<

Following the charts would have had you in both. <ggg>

OT Cars - On the Camaro or Corvette, you might be able to drop in a new/used LS-1 engine, which is used in the current Corvette, TransAm WS-6, and Camaro Z-28. Very good engine, picks up about 10-20 Hp over the first 15,000 miles as it runs in. Actual horse power 250-300 depending on exhaust system. My brother has a Trans Am.

See www.LS1.com for more info.

One of the tricks is to know what's out there and wait for a really good car at a really good price.
