BTW I am not saying that you are a fraud, I was just including the complete quote. Pickering if a speck if he is even that in terms of racism there really is no good evidence of even that. Yes racists might try to hide their racism but that is not a good reason to call someone a racist without solid evidence. Let's look at the setup here. Last January, the GOP nominated Pickering for a federal judgeship. His background in terms of race relations was questionable. The GOP withdrew his name from consideration. One year later, its been determined that the proposed Sen. M.L. is a bit racist......although he vehemently denies it. Then to the surprise of everyone, the GOP once again nominates Pickering, a friend of Lott's, a fellow Dixiecrat, and someone as well who has a questionable position re race. According to the news, there are people in the GOP who are insisting that he be renominated. Presumbably, they share his views...........all of them. Byrd was part of the KKK. I'd say that is "the plank" in this analogy. Let me put it this way to you......speck, plank, BS........you won't see the Dems. making Byrd a Sen. Majority Leader or a federal judge. ted
