Let's look at the setup here. Last January, the GOP nominated Pickering for a federal judgeship. His background in terms of race relations was questionable. The GOP withdrew his name from consideration. "His background in terms of race relations was questionable.", has not been well established unless by questionable you meerly mean someone questioned it. The Democrats were strongly against him, so they played the race card without solid foundation. Abscent solid support for the idea that he is a racist your whole theory falls apart. Tim
