Oh, Pezz, Pezz...would that the world would be so. Maybe you consider ordering a copy of the Qur'an from Amazon for $6 and read! it.( Yes, it is dull but revealing in total) Then perhas you might give pause before being optimistic
about 21st mentality establishing itself in a muslim country. This is serious business and the history is vast and complicated, the more so I find the more I read. Even Ataturk's changes in Turkey have not saved moderate(it is a relative term) Turkey from the grips of fundamenatlism. I put my hopes into the Russian/Asian venture to bypass the Middle East. We are running out of oil (a cliche'by now) and our only hope in my view is to find other sources. Perhaps you read the rather dismal article a few weeks back about the futility of immediate or impending freedom form oil in the forseeable future.
good weekend

Hi Pezz: >>The beauty is that if we establish a base there we can stop supporting those despots in Saudi Arabia. <<

You mean something along these lines...

Let's dream Abracadabra: "year 20XX - since 50 years the most precious liquid last is no more oil, it's sea water. Oil has been used last 25 years by terrorists to screw up water resources of their targets but lately this threat has all but disappeared"
