my 401 k has been in cash and bonds for a long time. I missed most of the tech bubble as I just could not believe that it would last as long as it did so stayed in cash. Everyone in the agressive growth funds would have a good laugh at me then (at that time you could only change your PF balance every 3 months - a lot can happen in 3 months), now they do not laugh, but they also do not go to cash. The biggest shame for my company is they do not offer a PM managed fund. Until they do I have to sit in cash....no choice.
