This means they have the right to live and express themselves, even in homosexual ways, but they do not have the right to force anyone, the Boy Scouts, house renters or anyone else, to accept homosexual behavior. They do not have this right because that sort of behavior has no integrity with the fundamental biological identity that is attached to all humans, including the humans comprising the Scouts. Homosexuality can indeed legitimately be the exclusive criterion of discrimination against a person because it is quite literally not a basis for human identity. Contrariwise, heterosexuality cannot be a legitimate exclusive criterion of discrimination. Once again, one half of your fundamental biological identity comes to you from one woman and one man. You are quite literally heterosexual, even if you should behave contrary to your fundamental nature. Heterosexuality is you, and it exists in every cell of your being. This is true of every single human who has ever existed and who will ever exist, despite cloning or any other technology that should come to pass. So then, unlike with homosexuality, heterosexuality cannot be a naturally legitimate exclusive criterion for discrimination, else, those doing the discriminating would by nature have to discriminate against themselves. What this means is that homosexuality is not the equal to heterosexuality and as such human societies have no obligation to acknowledge or force others to acknowledge it in any way. Homosexuals can behave contrary to humanity because of their human rights, as long as in their aberrant behavior they do not infringe upon the natural rights of others. Gotta run to dinner. Maybe I’ll explain the thing more clearly when I return.
