The third set of factors ("Rove") is clearly important,

Woodward indicated that Rove was not getting a seat at the NSC table, and was not involved in the FA decisions. How much he is doing "Back Room" of course, none of us know. We know that Bush trusts his judgement on Domestic, but there is no reason to think he would go to him much on FA.

Bush certainly started out wanting to involve Arafat, and I think his decision to cut him out was one of the better FA decisions he has made. TWT.

I'm just not sure, unlike you and Nadine, that it comes from the President himself

Tekboy,

Just to set the record straight, Nadine and I don't discuss Israel very often because we disagree so strongly. Well, we might agree on holding the Arab world accountable for the mess but when it comes to holding Israel accountable, I just don't go there with her anymore. She is kind enough to answer questions when I ask.

for the saintly Bush as well as the demon Clinton
