Hello all;

I subscribed to the RealOne streaming services this morning. It covers the ABC Nightline broadcasts among others. Here are the names of the panelists:

For the US
General Terry Scott - Commanded the 2nd Inf. in S. Korea for 20 yrs.
Kurt Campbell - Former Dep. Assistant Secty of Defense for Asian Affairs

For the DPRK (Democratic Republic of North Korea)
Col. Bill Taylor - Now a professor at Georgetown, has visited the DPRK many times
Victor Cha - Georgetown Prof and consultant to the DOD on Asian affairs

Toward the end of the show, Koppel quoted the response of a Defense Intel Agency person who agreed with the overall war game discussion results, but he said the death estimates were far to low: he estimates 5 million deaths in the first few days.

The introduction, which I missed last night, stated that this program was designed to illustrate why the Bush team has said that armed conflict with the DPRK is not an option. The scenario is that GWB changes his mind and asks his military and civilian advisors to give him the best possible scenario for pursuing a war with the DPRK. The simulation did not consider the interactions with the governments of S. Korea and Japan.

I cannot take the time to transcribe the program. Suffice it to say that the $4.95/mo subscription fee, which covers a number of other streaming sources too, seems reasonable to me.
