Have you seen that one state, I think Califonia but not sure, is now proposing to issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens?

I remember that issue from a while back. North Carolina was the first state, I think, to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens. And VA driver's licenses were an issue in 9/11. Those were illegally obtained, however. It was my understanding that 9/11 ended the practice, but my recollection is fuzzy. Maybe enough time has passed and it's an issue again. I understood NC's logic--that aliens who couldn't drive were more poorly employed and thus aa drain on the welfare system. Seems to me that we either boot them or we give them licenses and everything else that comes with legitimacy. What we're doing now is half assed and nuts.

And this problem is easy compared to abortion. People are either illegally in the country or they're not. There's no fuzziness about whether, after one trimester or two or three they might be legal, although there have been moves to make then legal in one broad stroke from time to time.
