Oblomov, I agree with your comments for the most part (and certainly about honour, honesty, etc). But most people are idiots ... <g/ng>

Your presidents are considered to have vast power over the economy by the majority of the electorate, it seems, and hence tend to get 'hoovered' --blamed and not re-elected -- if it sours (witness 41; conversely, 42 understood this all too well and engineered his re-election through voodoo statistics).

Right now, "the stock market is the economy, blah blah blah" ... so if 43's dividend ploy should happen to tank the market, he will get 'hoovered' by the idiot electorate, imo.
