yes the Bushie character assasination campaign against Davis partially worked. Drove his approval ratings down and negatives up. They spent tens of millions to accomplish this and told a plethora of lies in the process, primarily blaming Davis for the energy crisis when the GOP-linked energy ccompanies (who paid for much of the attack campaign against Davis) were the actual perps. Would you actually believe an Enron-funded campaign telling you Davis was to blame for that crisis? Another fact, the energy crisis ended the week after Jeffords switched parties. Think about why.
