I can't recall where I nominated Pickering for sainthood. If I wanted to make a similar suggestions to you, I could suggest that you don't make Pickering out to be the anti-Christ. You can leave that to Chuck Shumer. <gg> Let his nomination be debated on the Senate floor. I assume that you think that such a debate would be good for the Democratic Party. Obviously, Bush feels differently.

BTW, I thought that Trent Lott looked pretty silly on BET. I was hoping that he would come to Chicago and take his 40 lashes at an Operation PUSH meeting. Much more dramatic. He could have taken the opportunity to sample some of Chicago's racial politics. Might have ruffled that helmet on his head.

Good riddance to Trent Lott. He was a long time embarrassment to the GOP and not representative of mainstream conservatives.
