TRUTH ABOUT GOP ATTACKS ON DAVIS: In California during the energy crisis, a PAC called the "American Taxpayers Alliance" has begun running thousands of ads attacking Gov. Grey Davis for not stopping the predatory pricing of out-of-state energy suppliers. I've got no problem with groups of concerned citizens making their voices heard, but the "American Taxpayers Alliance" isn't a concerned citizens group. It refused to divulge who was behind it, but the truth came out eventually. This PAC was paid for by the very perpetrators themselves, run by GOP operative Ed Gillespie with the money they stole from us. This PAC was/is a GOP-organized group of energy corporations aiming to deflect blame and defeat Davis in the election. The "alliance" consists of 50 or so corporations including Enron, GOP honcho James Baker's Reliant Energy, Williams and El Paso, all of whom have been found guilty of energy fraud. This PAC group gouged the citizens of California for tens of billions then used profits to buy TV ads to attack their governor for not stopping them from gouging the citizens of California. Ironic huh? And SO nasty and corrupt. How do these executives sleep at night? On a large pile of our cash I guess.
