I said Feburary 2001 didn't I? If not it was a typo.
The energy crisis started in late 2000 and peaked during and right after the Bush-Cheney takeover of the government. It stopped suddenly the week after Jeffords switched parties, thus giving democrats subpoena powers to get at the truth. All of a sudden there was an energy SURPLUS and it turned out the whole thing was a BIG LIE. And Cheney had been going around adding to that lie for months before that. After this Cheney had to go into hiding and refused to speak to the press for many months. All true. Cheney stgonewalled courts who ordered him to releasehis energy task force papers because there was evidence there showing the collusion. Looks like he may have gotten away with it, tens of billions gone. And now California kids, poor, sick people and middle-class will lose services and taxes will have to go up for everyone just to START paying off the energy debt.

I had an increase from around 100$ to 360$ one month I remember. If you said rates went up only 200% and not 400% like AS claims, I might be convinced and go with you but 50% is way off base and sounds like some kind of lying with statistics to me.

It was so expensive for companies like my startup software company to keep the lights on that we worked from home for a week. Now thats extreme.
