Isn't it a shame, all this has to be handled by illiterates?

I had a problem with a department store credit card. Instead of calling, I went to the customer service department AT the store. It was somewhat complicated and I didn't want to tell the story 18 times, only to not have it resolved..

It just so happens the manager of the store was standing off to the side when I started relating my long involved story...He picked up the phone and called the "illiterate of the day", and she actually started yelling at HIM!!

He told her in no uncertain terms she was out of line, and he wanted to talk to someone who was able to correct this on the spot!! It was handled that day, and within three days, I received a corrected statement , and a long letter of apology. I'm convinced if I hadn't gone in person to talk to someone, this would still be going back and forth!
