It's a great BBS. I have been reading it a lot, especially when I was buying my HDTV set last year. Basically, back then, it look the whole mess that is being forced on everyone by Hollywood was so complicated that at that point I gave up on any idea of digital connection to the set, and went with fairly inexpensive (in relative terms) CRT based set.

My guess is that there is still no point in spending big bucks on plasma until you can get a native resolution of 1900x1080, capable of progressive output, which is I believe the highest of the numerous HDTV format, of course with digital connection to the cable box (and until the confusion surrounding it is resolved).

PS: One thing that is not entirely clear is where all these leaves TVs with analog based component inputs. I hope that the Hollywood Nazis will not be screwing around with those for a few years.
