In the last 50 years, there has not been a single case where an executed person was later proved innocent.

OTOH, there have been several cases in which trial errors or additional evidence was turned up during the appeals cycle which resulted in a conviction being overturned for someone not yet executed. Anti DP folks co-mingle these cases with the notion that we're executing innocent people.

Name one since the Supreme Court reinstituted the death penalty. The fact is that you can't.
