” Put up or shut up.”

You mentioned you don’t get exercised about the “fetus.” I note: you are “careful” to never say baby. I’ll bet you were not careful about that before abortion was a debated topic. You mentioned that you do get exercised about the mother. That is not news, as you generally stand up about women’s rights on this topic. I am also guessing that you have become more careful about how much of a humanized characterization you use when describing children and mothers since the debate over abortion was first begun. As a conversation starter, people commonly ask expecting mothers what sex they think their baby is. Or, pre Row v Wade, did you ask pregnant women if they had learned the sex of their fetus. That was the focus of my original post; that people make this kind of trade off when it is useful to their political position.

I wrote ONE sentence in which I mentioned the two extreme positions. Those extremists on the women’s movement verses those extremists on right to life …and how they have a tendency toward dehumanization of the persons represented by the other position. I probably could write quite an article on it. However, one sentence is all that it was. You characterized that post as a rant about the women’s movement.

It appeared to me that you were “Aghast” in your response. And by your response, that you were identifying with a particular side of that sentence which had touched you personally enough that you needed to lodge quite a protest. One that didn’t really register what you were attempting to get at. So, I commented on that too.

Or do you, as you seem to be arguing believe you are a middle of the road person on this issue?

btw. I stopped filling in the blanks for other people's sentences after the fourth grade. It has a tendency to restrict my ability to convey my meanings when I use language. Talk about trying to put words in other people's mouthes.s.ss sheesh.
