Easily proven wrong by noticing your thoughts... and noticing that you still exist in between the thoughts.>> I can't exist independent of this thoughts which articulate whom I am. ,,No... you see, thoughts are NOT reality. That's the point. You are assuming that if one is not worrying about the future, he WILL worry about it later. If one sees reality in the moment he cannot possibly be worrying... worrying is thinking [about the future].>> If you are not worried you don't know what is going on. (Much appropriated for the coming Kaboom!) If your appraisal of reality is not converted -attenuated- by your brain, your thoughts are based on reality. And if reality threatens you, you rather better worry. <<What is brain, etc. vs the person of course can be debated. BUT, one can certainly 'see' before thoughts, labels and judgements come in [usually almost immediately]. Children of course don't have dialogue going on in their heads about what they are seeing like [some] adults do.>> That is at instant zero. Next millisecond your brain start making associations based on what has been stored there. Then it plays as I said: If you are going to see is going to cause you pain, your brain does protocol conversion so that you get the "positive" side of it. The whole practice of Zen is to 'see'.... without the brains thinking explaining it to you. Of course it is possible... not only this, but being accepted my main stream psychology in the west. Can comment. I have no idea what is behind Zen. Agree on BBR... in fact a bit of a ZEN thread... masters hitting folks with sticks to get them out of their patterned heads and into the present reality. Ok. Discussion will get short as I persuade you to agree with me :-)
