its ambiguous in some parts of the world, like Kashmir, or Palestine, but for the most part boundaries are known and respected, and an outsider trying to manage events within those boundaries, is meddling in "internal affairs of a sovereign nation".

If there are differences of opinion, I am all for dialogue to work things out in a diplomatic manner. Failing that, I will support appropriate aggresive responses to get over a threat, if the threat is real and proven. I am unable to subscribe to this concept of "hey, that was collateral damage, happens in any war".
