that's also what the stupid fed seems to think. they don't seem to separate that inflation on inputs and constrained prices for outputs is bad for employment in the short run.

Look if the dividend cut goes through, which I think doesnt have a chance. The tax free muni are going to have to raise the interest rate to compete and the states are in much worse shape than the fed since they cant print money..
Maybe the only people behind bars will be violators of crimes that cause harm to others, and the victimless crimes like prostitution and drug users and the freedom of choice to engage in such are ignored? If we have room for non- violent criminals then we have to much room!
If you build it The cops will fill it.
The goal is inflation since the fed realize that deflation is so much a possibility.Nobody knows what to do with deflation.Greenspan would love to raise rates to control inflation but he cant because there isnt any.12 rate cuts so that the real interest rate is negative? Our markets are so manipulated by our government, they are anything but free.
If anyone had guessed that the dollar/euro would be down over 20% in one year and foreign investors didnt rush into our equities to take advantage of the $usd depreciation lets our markets know we are in for a very bad dose of reality.
Bush knows that the 50% dividend cut was slim so he raises it to 100% since he knows he gets credit for trying anyway. If he happens to get a 50% he still can blame the market fall on the dems. The truth is the corruption was so rampant that our markets are probably at best 50% overvalued and at worst as worthless as the $usd. The good news is if you happen to live in America and your debt is in $usd then it really dont matter.
Bush worst nightmare is if the democrats actually give him what he ask for.If the market tanks and it will! (but to what hieghts the crooks, fed, and ppt push it is anyones guess.)
He can always blame it on the bipartisan politics for his failure.
Bush lost 5 percentage points in rating this week.I am very surprised at this since he pushed the unemployment extension unlike the mistake made by his father. This is a good market indicator for consumer sentiment if you are bearish which I am.
Republicans tend to put all check receivers in the same category (welfare, sss, unemployment) in the same group. They tend to forget that yesterdays republican is todays unemployed.Yesterdays worker is todays disabled.
Clinton made great strides in making welfare recipients work.Be it at the advice of the Republicans or not he gets the credit. The surplus whether his for 8 years or by Bush under his watch is the responsibility of the person on watch.
I think that most Americans are ashamed when a country like North Korea can blatantly claim weapons of mass destruction like a few nukes and we negotiate and when Iraq is cooperating and we cant find it deserves change of leadership.
I always thought the united nations was in place for the world to consider ways for peace and to punish the aggressor. ?
If the United States goes in without UN approval then I vote that the South try succeeding again, but that we ask for UN protection to fend off the axis of evil.
Enough of a joke.
If China or Russia Attacked a country without the U.N. approval then the world would be well justified to desroy that country.
I dont like my Country not playing by the rules they helped make!
What if the Geneva convention didnt apply to American prisoners of war?I was always proud of justice served in due process, however slow.I am however ashamed of how the United States bend the rules just like trail lawyers to ignore the justice that was intended.
Bush fails to realize that the majority of Americans didnt vote for him.I think Austin tends to forget also that the majority of voters are not republicans.
