Very succinctly put. My own suspicion is that true homosexual individuals who find the opposite sex repugnant are uncommon. Not mentioned is bisexuality, which I view as a form of promiscuity with varying degrees of indifference toward gender preference. Both are problematic.

The famous twin studies, which established a 50% genetic correlation for homosexuality, have not been replicated, and have been criticized for bias. Even if we accept them, they mean that 50% is not genetics...

Identical twins share the same genetic attributes. So I'm not sure the twin studies, if accepted, could even go as far as proving a 50% genetic cause for homosexuality. We should see the behavior expressed in nearly 100% of the twin cases if homosexuality were merely a matter of genetics.

The studies were indeed biased, as are very many studies of homosexuality. Many of the studies were done by people who were far from disinterested (grin).
