Uh, to end the Taliban took a war. Bad things do happen in a war. Some intentional, some not. Does that make the whole effort to overthrow the Taliban wrong?

There were instances in WW2 of US soldiers shooting POWs. Should we have allowed Hitler to remain in power to avoid that?

This is the REAL WORLD, Karen. It's not a storybook tale and it's not fantasy land. Everything isn't always nice and clean and moral and ethical. Sometimes all you have is the choice of the lesser (you hope) of two evils.

And even then you may choose wrongly. The Taliban came to power because the US decided Muslim fanatics were less bad than Communist dictators. Now that choice isn't nearly as clear.

Look, you people have to grow up. Childhood's over. The good guys don't always win and right doesn't always triumph.

And even when it does, it's more likely to be a whiter shade of gray than pure white.
