I din't even know SI was issuing tickets. I ought to get one for all the time I've spent on these coffee shop threads. Is it to a show or something?

To sum up the experience a cop thought I did something that in his opinion amounted to reckless driving. It turns out that his opinion of what happened had very little connection with reality but when it's my word against his, his has more weight as he is not considered a biased party with a stake in the outcome of the case. I had to hire a lawyer to avoid the reckless driving charge (a misdemeanor not just a violation, and one that stays on your record for 11 years). I paid the lawyer something like $800 or $850 and while the charge was reduced to a 3 point "improper driving" charge I still had to pay a $500 fine. Basically I just got screwed... The case wiped out my meager savings. Tim
