Not only was it a shallow recession
We have been in a decaying economy pretty much since Bush started. It is still decaying. There may be some artificial growth where ten dollars of borrowing is supplying one dollar in economic activity, but that is an artifact of the way the numbers are crunched. Any objective look at the job markets or business activity shows a real and continuing decline. Essentially Bush is selling the strength of the dollar to make his recession numbers look somewhere above zero.

... it a shallow recession, but it is likely that, without 9-11, we would have experienced robust recovery by now.....

Are you the same one who posted that the fall of the stock market last year was due to "summertime vacationers no buying stocks, but they will when they get back"?

Are you investing in equities still?

FWIW, in spite of the extra time allowed for recovery, due to wrong policies gutting the economy I'm sticking w. gold, oil and defense-tech. I can't see the upside elsewhere, but am open to contrary opinion.
